DIY Magic: Rebinding My Thrifted Harry Potter Set

Worn Pages, New Covers:  My Journey Into Book Rebinding   If you’ve ever looked at a worn-out paperback and wished it could have a second life, welcome to the world of book rebinding. I recently thrifted the entire Harry Potter series and I've started to give them a magical glow-up by rebinding them as hardcovers with custom covers. It took me multiple trips to get my hands on each of the books in the series. I wanted to find ones that the pages were in good condition, but the covers were beat up (which made me feel sooooo much better when it came time to rip off all the covers). I've never read the Harry Potter books, and I've only seen the movies once through, so I thought this would be the perfect series to start with. I spent tons of time in both Canva and the Cricut app designing, editing, and tweaking the designs to be just right. Since I have never done this before, and the books are kid friendly, I knew I wanted to start this first attempt at this hobby with a simp...

Whispers and Wings: A Review of The Knight and the Moth Dark magic, courtly shadows, and the kind of storytelling that clings to your bones    ✨ A Highly Anticipated Read From the moment Rachel Gillig announced The Knight and the Moth , I was ready. I preordered the moment it went live and counted down the days until release because after One Dark Window and Two Twisted Crowns , I knew I was in for something special. And I was absolutely right. The cliff hanger is perfect, because it literally has me in a choke hold for the next epic part.  What made The Knight and the Moth so good was how masterfully it balanced emotional depth with immersive atmosphere . Gillig didn’t just write a plot, she forces the reader to envoke feeling while you travel the various hamlets of Traum. The entire book feels like...

Whispers in the Fog:  Why You Need to Read the Shepherd King Duology Spoiler Free Review! Darkly atmospheric, richly magical, and full of gothic romance. What more could a girl ask for from a duology?  One Dark Window and its sequel Two Twisted Crowns follow Elspeth Spindle, a young woman haunted by a dangerous secret in a kingdom cursed by corrupted magic. The series blends dark fantasy, slow-burn romance, and eerie folklore in a world where magic comes at a steep price...and sanity is always on the line. I first stumbled upon One Dark Window completely by chance during a trip to Barnes & Noble. I was in one of those moods where I just needed a new series to dive into, and after scanning the shelves for a while, I asked one of the employees if she had any recommendations. Her face lit up the moment I mentioned fantasy and she immediately pulled One Dark Window off the shelf and told me how much she loved it and hadn't stopped thinking of it since she finished reading...
